|
This symposium addresses the progress in this field to date and confronts the challenges that face us, providing a historical perspective on GORD and presenting the latest therapeutic strategies. Over the past several decades we have witnessed a tremendous revolution in GI disorders. The recognition of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) as a major disease entity has prompted an extensive evaluation of the spectrum of this disorder and of its clinical implications. Several important issues have emerged: What is the true spectrum of GORD? What are the current diagnostic and therapeutic challenges? How effective is medical therapy? When is surgery indicated? This symposium, The Art of GORD Treatment: Evolution Towards Perfection addresses the progress in this field to date and confronts the challenges that face us. The symposium provides a historical perspective on GORD and presents the very latest therapeutic strategies. |
